How do you identify a top cancer doctor is an important question for anyone who has been diagnosed with cancer. Too many Americans diagnosed with cancer are incredibly casual in selecting physicians and hospitals. They may pick a name from their health plan directory, or even from a phone book, with the location of the doctor’s office being the primary factor in their selection. Others may receive a referral from their primary physician who makes recommendations based on a reciprocal referral system rather then on any particular medical expertise or skill.
Our goal in creating this independent database of cancer specialist was to select physicians viewed by their peers as the best in preventing, diagnosing and treating cancer and its related ramifications. Doctors do not and cannot pay to be included in our Top Cancer Doctor list.
